OH SWEET BABY, that was awesome! The angst, the revelations, the baddies, and the budding friendships??? Maybe??? I LOVED this volume. Let's face it, anything with Bakugo is a volume I am going to adore.
Is Togata supposed to look like Tintin???

I feel like I'm getting Stockholm syndrome, because every single volume has been ending in a mind-destroying cliffhanger and at this point I've started to become numb to it. It happens and I'm just like, 'Oh,' and continue on to the bonus content at the back of the book while I calmly contemplate the meaning of existence.(view spoiler)[Also I feel like I've complained about the cliffhanger endings on like every single review so maybe I should stop //shot (hide spoiler)]
Ahem.

PUMPED to be getting back into MHA after deciding i can't wait for the anime to continue lol but this was a super weird place to pick the series back up - hopefully it becomes more enjoyable after i get back into the swing of things!
Well, I need the next one

Moving onto new villains AND new heroes? Hmmmm... let's see what direction this title is headed in now....
Highlights:
-The battle between Deku and Bakugo continues. Though Bakugo has increased speed, Deku realizes that he can use One-For-All now at 8%, instead of only 5%, and that speed and strength increase helps him surpass Kacchan, or so he thought. Alternating between his fists and kicks (Shoot Style), they seem very evenly matched, though Bakugo wins. All-Might intervenes and helps them both

Another awesome volume! Wasn't crazy about the chapter(s) about Midoriya and Sir Nighteye, but Mirio made it super worthwhile. I love his personality, and his quirk is really interesting! I love how much thought went into figuring out the workings of it. I really like his design too- kind of like Tintin meets Popeye meets early Mickey Mouse designs. Part of me wonders if he's too good to be true, though.
Anyway, let's talk about Overhaul. I'm really intrigued

Okay. That fight between Bakugo and Izuku was worth the price of admission. This volume of the hit My Hero Academia manga was incredible. Midoriya knew that things were going to come to ahead with him and Bakugo's relationship and the intense battle just really gives me so many emotions. Horikoshi has done a great job of not making Bakugo a one dimensional rival to Midoriya like one would expect in a shonen manga. Bakugo is just as important to the story as our main hero. All Might being a true...more

Love the first few issues and how certain conflicts are solved. I'm not as interested in the next arc for now though, but we'll see how it evolves.
(Also Mirio's charadesign really makes me think of Fallout's Pipboy/Vault boy XD)

With this volume the Bakugo VS. Midoriya fight comes to a close. It's ultimately a satisfying ending and Bakugo has some very vulnerable moments. We finally see him with All Might, who is his idol as well as Midoriya's. Most importantly I think we see some development between those two. Midoriya and Bakugo are rivals, but now it's more authentic. It feels like now they can actually help each other grow instead of pushing each other down

Deku found who they were looking for in .5 seconds so.... what have they been doing? Not sure how I feel about the new characters being introduced. I don't really like most of them especially Nighteye. I'm hoping Overhaul is going to be a scary love to hate villain though. I reallyyy like his character design. (And he's got a pretty wild power). I've finally hit the parts after season 3 so everything is going to be new to me which is super exciting.
Finally caught up with the anime! So I’ll probably stop here and come back after a few more seasons
I Fucking love jacked TinTin, he has the best character design second only to precious Tsuyu
Very excited about drama on the evil side, that yakuza guy is so scary
This is a mostly build up volume for the next arc, so there is not much plot to speak of. We get introduced to a handful of new faces, and the pages are mostly spent on showing their beliefs and powers. If there is one thing worth pointing out, it’s how the power creep really shot up here. Every one of the new dudes is super elite level, and that is a huge contrast to how things used to be up to this point, when the only broken characters were the leaders of the heroes and the villains. It ruine...more

Bakugo and Midoriya fight it out once and for all, but even with his enhanced control over One For All, Midoriya’s going to have a hard time coming out victorious. And then, in the aftermath of their battle, it’s time for Work Study! And in the background, the League Of Villains recruit their newest ally – who is Overhaul?
It’s about time Deku and Kacchan managed to hash some of their aggression out. Their relationship doesn’t change that much, but it’s nice to clear some of that animosity away a

We finally see Bakugo share some feelings! I still have a hard time understanding this character, but those couple of chapters really helped getting some insight into his attitude. I would've given this volume 5 stars just for those first chapters, but the rest is just okay because it's only the beginning of the new arc. Hopefully it'll get better once it starts to develop. The final page was enough to assure me that.

My Hero Academia, Vol. 14 continues where the previous tankobon left off and contains the next ten chapters (119–128) of the on-going manga series.
The fight between Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugō continues. It was a fight that was brewing since the very first pages of the series and it was rather well done. Katsuki Bakugō is angry with Izuku Midoriya because he thought him to be arrogant for thinking that a powerless person could match with him. Izuku Midoriya always hero-worshiped him and no

This volume continues with the conclusion of Bakugo and Midoriya's battle, and the repercussions of such; along with a few confirmations that Bakugo has been needing, and a small pep talk from All Might that was really well overdue.
There was also the introduction of UA's 'top three' students - including the former first choice as All Might's successor (before Deku came along), and the introduction of All Might's former sidekick. Looks like Deku's in for a ROUGH internship :P
And finally, we also

This is by far my favourite volume. I have waited...... SO. BLOODY. LONG. FOR THIS VOLUME.
--Mirio, Tamaki and Nejire are all angels I want them all to succeed and find happiness when they inevitably graduate top of their class and become pro heroes
--My anxious bean Tamaki is the most relatable character in this series so far and I adore him, he spent the entirety of Mirio's fight staring at the wall and flawlessly critiquing everyone who didn't appreciate the time and energy Mirio has p

Okay, things are getting interesting.
The volume starts off with the conclusion to Bakugo and Midoriya’s fight. While Bakugo may have won, the two of them seemed to have finally formed a true rivalry, where before it was just Midoriya chasing after Bakugo, with Bakugo not understanding why.
The whole theme of this volume seemed to be whether or not Midoriya should have been entrusted with One for All in the first place.
We are introduced to a bunch of new characters. Togata Mirio,

Horikoshi-sensei does it again. This volume felt unique to me because, although it did have some powerful emotional moments (the defining aspect of the past several volumes for me), the plot itself shone brighter than anything else. Everything is moving so fast, but not confusingly so--somehow Horikoshi-sensei and his team manage to strike the perfect balance between depth and pace. If they continue like this, I will never get bored with this series, no matter how long it runs. I cannot wait for...more

So this volume is a bit interesting, in that some of it has been shown in the anime, while a lot of it is actually new material. I'm surprised that there was a clear line between these two, but it is what it is.
This volume was great. We got to learn more about All Might, and I love the idea of the students doing more internships. I think it's important for them if they want to keep improving - though I can see why it is a point of contention between the instructors.

Even though this volume continues one of my favorite moments of the manga, I feel like it ended on a slower end. Still, I gave it full points because there's a lot of neat stuff going on. Katsuki and Deku are finally on the road of getting along? And one of my favorite looking villains (because THAT is IMP ppl) has been introduced. It's been so long since I read about him though so I was left impressed with Overhaul. Also Eri! I've heard about her so many times but this was my introduction to he...more

Boku No Hero Manga Read

Failure only occurs when one failed to try everything he can and choose to give up without trying at first. This manga centers Midoriya Izuku or Deku, a boy with big dreams of becoming a hero but failed to have a quirk, one of the great requirement of being a hero not until he meet All Might, the no. 1 hero of the all time and his idol. Deku, throughout the series taught us the power of believing one self, that if we try harder, we can do it better. Fantastic manga with great lessons. Can't wait...more

Hmm...another intriguing installment in the series. This return to school should be an interesting one, and I like that we should be seeing more of class 1-B because of the two classes having more courses together. Also, the work study plotline should be one where we hopefully see characters like Midoriya grow even more. I'm really looking forward to Volume 15...though not the fact that I have to wait a couple months for it. Oh well, at least I have plenty of other books to keep me company until...more
