Duzzy I haven't checked if it is set to ACHI in bios, but it just so happens that I have Mr Speccy open, and this is what he says. Maybe - as I don't want to re-boot right now -you can tell me if it does from this data. If not I will re-boot and check.
I understand what you are saying, but I am the kind of person who believes less is more, not just for the sake of it, but because the less stuff you have (anywhere) the less 'junk' there is to clog things up, as well as less stuff to wade thru to find something, the less stuff to eliminate when isolating a problem, as well as less stuff to cause problems in the 1st place.
CONsequently, I don't want to install unnecessary stuff, and I have no interest in setting up a Raid drive config. . But thanks for your suggestion and explanation
